The shorter way to Meteora

Starting from Thessaloniki cuts about three hours off the Meteora day. The drive is 3.5 hours each way instead of four, the bus is comfortable and air-conditioned, and the route ends with a Greek lunch in the village of Kastraki at the foot of the rocks.

You visit two of the six active monasteries — typically Varlaam, Roussanou or St. Stephen, depending on the day of the week and the closures of each monastery. The live guide on board speaks English; the same multilingual smart-guide audio commentary used on the Athens tour is not provided on this trip, so non-English speakers should plan accordingly.
